Lot #177 - 1918 $50 St. Louis Fr# 831 - PMG F-15 minor repairs

Flat Creek, Missouri Collection. PMG has seen a grand total of only fifteen of Fr.831 -- not such a big surprise since St. Louis was the only district to release these FRBNs to circulation to the extent of only 4-thousand pieces. That said, the majority remain non-certified since over fifty examples are believed to currently exist. Interestingly, this note has a relatively high serial number by comparison to the very low emission. Regardless, the fact that about a quarter of all known notes are in museums means those very few that have ever been sold on the open market tend to remain impounded as a single-Friedberg type. Very decent margins surround this originally toned and choice example the "minor repairs" being closure of a couple of small edge splits.

Frosty white devices clash with highly mirrored fields throughout this Capital plastics display set of fifteen consecutive United States proof sets. This run spans from 1950 through 1963 and includes and additional 1960 set that has a small date variety. Most every nickel offers a pleasing steely grey appeal and all but two cents are fiery red examples. The two outliers are the 1950 and 1960 small date Lincoln cents that offer wonderful toning displays that may be worthy of being sent in for certification (ck)?

Lot #309 - Native American Squash Blossom

Circa 1960/1970 and signed by Bobby Thompson of the Navajo nation, this sterling silver (tested, not marked) and turquoise squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and a 5-stone Naja at the bottom. The turquoise cabs are set in a shadow box setting and while most of the background has been blackened nicely, a couple panels need a touch up of color. The turquoise used in the making appears to be from the Sleeping Beauty mine. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Length 30”, 5.54 troy ounces
