Lightly tanned surfaces give this uncut sheet of (12) 1928-G $2 Legal Tender notes a truly organic and original look. This particular series (EA Block) is rarely seen in uncut sheet form and is truly deserving of the Choice About UNC 58 grade given by PMG. Nice centering and a very minor tear are noted (ck).

134 graded MS-64, 32 higher at NGC. Long recognized as a strike-rarity within the series, one might not be aware of that reputation when examining only this boldly defined and cleanly struck example. Excellent definition down the Indian's braid, across the top of his head and an unusually sharp horn and tail (for the date) all speak to the primary reason a specialist will want to pursue this nickel. That said, the cataloger suspects the surface has been coated with a thin layer of protectant which creates a slightly glossy effect.
