Every example in the “short set” from 1941 through 1947 is filled with fresh examples ranging in grade from Very Fine to Extra Fine and could not be any more original (ck).

  • Lot #386 - 1909 PCGS MS-65
  • Hammer: $4,800
  • Gold $2.50-Indian Head Quarter Eagle
  • Much scarcer as a gem than 1908 or 1910 the 1909 does often get nicer production quality as exhibited by this superbly struck example. Consistently attractive and unblemished ultra-fine matte frost lays over the entire surface and valiantly attempts to emulate the inimitable appearance of a matte proof. A fabulous coin with everything going for it at the assigned grade.
