Early United States mint sets are among the most difficult items to find in their original condition and packaging. There are five such issues here that includes a 1949, a 1951, a 1952, a 1954, and a 1957. Each of these are still in their original cardboard sleeves and envelopes as well. Wispy and dusty tones cling to all of the surfaces of each issue within each set lending even further evidence to these particular set’s originality. Atypical for 1923-S, both sides exhibit bold, energetic luster not usually seen, and all this over satin-laden texture that emphasizes visual appeal. Two broad apricot-gold crescents align with a broad, diagonal champagne band on the obverse while the reverse features a thin layer of fuzzy grey patina. A fair number of minute bagmarks stray over the eagle's wing.
