Very pale golden hue endows 1862, both sides rather well struck but also showing roll friction within the fields. Better vintage gold color shows over 1874, along with fluttering hairlines that undoubtedly limit the grade. Two coin lot.

Quarter Dollars-Capped Bust
Browning-1, a common die-marriage for which the reverse die crack in the upper field may not be diagnostic, but it certainly narrows attribution down rapidly. A broad splash of cobalt iridescence spills over Liberty's portrait, reaching for the bright chartreuse-gold hues surrounding the stars. Magenta and Navy-blue powder the reverse with pleasing, vintage appeal. Utterly trivial contact marks appear to be all that defies gem expectations.
