A series that can be enjoyably and successfully collected from the Byzantine period is the emission of bronze follis (40-nummi) coins under Maurice Tiberius (died 602 A.D.), second son of Emperor Maurice and wife Constantina, who ruled from 582 until his death. Retail grading and pricing are indicated on holders for this group, although realistically, average examples sell in the $35 - $50 range. Not confirmed, each member is indicated to be of a different year for this eleven coin lot.

Overton-125, R.4. Curiously spattered in linear waves of gunmetal grey and aluminum hues on the obverse, while the reverse features a more consistent and even pattern of coral-grey. Sparse traces of luster can still be found on the reverse with ease, interacting with protected areas of the wreath, while the obverse shows virtually no luster at all. Struck off of clashed dies yet certainly sharply detailed.
